Kala Namak is a special Indian mineral salt. When it is mined it is actually reddish-black in color but takes on a pink hue upon being ground. It has a distinctive sulfurous flavor much like hard-boiled eggs, and is predominantly used in Chaats, Chutneys, Raitas, and other savory dishes.
